Shah & Talati was involved in the greenfield facility for
Areva Transformers from land selection stage.
One of the first transformer factory with positive pressure / part HVAC in South Asia. Entire steel rafters were cladded with plates to achieve bird proof and dust proof surfaces. Shah & Talati’s scope included design of the power transformers and the entire site development and utilities - water supply, sewerage system, storm water drainage etc for the 80 acre site. The assembly area for power transformers has 2 x 450 ton crane operating at 30 m height. The test bay is having a height of 42 m and we were responsible for electrical isolation of the structure as per testing requirement. The total constructed area for the factory is 35000 sqm. The entire structure was fabricated on site using hot rolled plates and sections.
